This is our popcorn installation project. We decided to cover a small kitchen in popcorn. Our idea behind the piece was a "sensory overload". Not only is it an unexpected visual, but the popcorn creates a strong sense of smell. Also, the popcorn popping noise resonating throughout the room makes you feel as though you are inside of a pot of popcorn. We covered the light source with yellow cellophane in order to increase the butteriness of the popcorn. Some reported that this intense yellow color also increased the "buttery" smell that they were experiencing.
